Description The documents in this collection were items that were placed in the cornerstone of Boulder-Denver toll booth in 1951. They remained there until the booth was removed in 1967. The items were then put in a display case at the Boulder County Courthouse. There is a single photograph of dignitaries at the ground-breaking ceremony on 16 October 1950. This collection has not yet been fully organized.

Description The majority of this collection consists of surveying field books mostly organized by section, township and range. Books are numbered and there is a list in each box that identifies the date, location, and surveyor of each book. Surveyors include: J.P. Maxwell, Maxwell and Oliver, John S. Titcomb, Josiah Dartt, and others. In box two there are also 19 miscellaneous registers and account books, and box 1 holds a binder with information about J.P. Maxwell.

Included are family photographs of the McVey, Epperson, Lewis, Morrison, Reeves, and Lingham families; photographs and information about the African Methodist Episcopal Church and the Second Baptist Church of Boulder; and biographical information about Afro-American pioneers and early gold miners. Also newspaper clippings about Dearfield, Colorado, an African-American community in Weld County.
