Description Box 1 of the collection includes two hundred seventy-four letters written in 1946-1947 by Ruth and Charles Vavra (of 869 9th Street in Boulder) to their son John while he was serving in the U.S. Army in Virginia, and three letters written in 1960-1962 by Ruth Vavra to her sons, John and James, and their families. Box 2 includes fifty-four letters and seven cards written by James J. Vavra to his brother John, mostly between April 1946-April 1947.
