Description
Richard Behrmann is a long-time resident of Niwot and Longmont in Boulder County. He was active in farming, as were his father and grandfather. He provides detailed accounts both of farming activities (such as threshing, how to keep a "buck rake" running straight) and of equipment (such as descriptions of Pitman mowers and grain binders). He also provides information about school and social life (including about Jitney dances), his brother's experiences in the U.S. Navy in World War II, and local lore.

Description
Siblings Donna Cito Rodgers and Donald Cito talk about the land on North 79th Street in Niwot that has been in their family since their great-grandparents homesteaded it in the early 1900s. They talk about dry-land wheat farming, dairy farming, buildings on the homestead - including the well-known "flag barn" - childhood chores, and the history of the naming of Gunbarrel. They also discuss their brother David's foray into ostrich farming and Donna's recent adventure with skydiving. The interview includes video photos of family members, and the end of the recording includes footage of the land as it looks in 2013.
