These folders contain newspaper clippings about the development and locations of industries in Boulder County. The clippings were compiled by the Reference Staff at the Boulder Public Library.

This is a very large collection that is currently in storage awaiting organization. Primarily contains City and County of Boulder documents pertaining to land use issues. Martha (Ricky) Weiser attended hundreds of local government hearings and she wrote personal comments on some of these papers.

Will Toor, an exiting Boulder County commissioner due to term limits, is interviewed about his time from 2004 to 2012 as one of three county commissioners. He talks about the relationship between the City of Boulder and Boulder County and their work on issues including energy, sustainability, human services, land use, open space, and transportation. He discusses the role of scientific research in many of the decisions the commission reached during his time in office. Toor reflects on his biggest achievements on the commission, the effects of the recession on the county, how Boulder County is positioned going forward, and his desire for citizens to be more involved in governmental decisions.

Deborah Hayes has been a prominent member of the League of Women Voters. She describes her early introduction and involvement with the League due to her mother being a member when she was growing up in California. Ms. Hayes joined the League after graduate school when she came to Boulder to teach at CU, and has been involved with the organization ever since. She describes studying and taking positions on civic issues, as well as educating the public about issues and candidates, as important aspects of the League's work. As a past president, she discusses the league's mission ("informed citizen participation in government") and its activities over the years. Ms. Hayes describes the changes that have taken place at the League in recent years including the admission of men as members, somewhat diminished ernollment, and the use of the Internet and a League Web site to communicate with members and with the public. Lastly, she talks about some of the accomplishments of the Boulder League during her years of involvement and relates some personal ancedotes.
