Early views of Boulder include a fire department hose company in formation in front of the Boulder House, a parade at the 1200 block of Pearl St., and Boulder Canyon road.

This folder contains two copies of a newspaper-size four-page printed sheet with captioned views of mines, mills, and mine buildings in "the richest gold camp in Colorado," in the Ward Mining District. It also contains views of the town of Ward, and views that accompany advertisements for businesses in Boulder, Colo. It is undated, but probably ca. 1890s. The first copy has been mended archivally; the second copy is in a number of pieces, in poor condition.

The register pages are interleaved with a blotting paper carrying the heading "Leading Business Houses of Central City, Col." This blotting paper is covered on both sides with advertisements for 23 businesses in Boulder, Central City, Denver, Chicago, and elsewhere.

These clippings, primarily from the Boulder Daily Camera, relate the history of the Boulderado, starting with the fundraising drive of 1905-1906 and the debate over what to name it in 1907. (See Camera 13 Jan. 1906 "Naming An Hotel".) The clippings are from the years 1905-1910, 1924, 1929, 1935, 1940- 1948, and 1982.
