Jamestown, Colorado, resident Martine Amadé speaks about her experience during the September 2013 flood. She talks about her family’s evacuation to the Jamestown School, being airlifted out by helicopter, and her stay in Boulder while her husband repaired their house. She describes the damage to Jamestown, reconstruction of houses and the town, and the many ways townspeople helped each other and pulled together. She expresses hope that boundaries that previously existed between town residents and, for example, bicyclists and different groups within the town, may remain broken down in the future.

Charlie Brennan, the science and environmental reporter for the Daily Camera newspapaer, describes covering the Boulder County Flood of 2013. He talks about his approach to reporting about the flood, contacts he used to obtain informatiion that would help readers understand what was happening, and the efforts that he and other reporters made in extraordinary circumstances to put together news stories and to get the paper out in spite of the challenges brought about by flood conditions and the complexity of the story. He explains various aspects of the flood, such as what is behind the nomenclature of calling it a 100-year flood or a 1000-year rain. He describes the devastation he observed in Jamestown and praises the efforts of Jamestown mayor Tara Schoedinger and the resiliency of the town's residents. He reflects on the importance of journalism during such an event; on things he would have done differently, with hindsight, including making better use of social media; and on the importance of historical ducments, such as oral histories, in helping journalists to do their work.

Tim Head describes the upcoming (at the time of the interview) events for Airport Day 2014 at the Boulder Municipal Airport. At this year's event, in addition to the customary displays of airplanes and helicopters, there will be special recognition for the flood rescue personnel who performed evacuations during the September 2013 Boulder County floods, including those from the Colorado Army National Guard and the U. S. Army, and an opportunity for the aviators to reconnect with the members of the community that were rescued. She discusses the extent of the damage caused by the flood, details the recovery work that has been done and that still needs to be done, talks about the economics of flood recovery, and gives contacts for resources available to those who need assistance.

Bret Gibson, resident and business owner in Fourmile Canyon, was serving as fire chief of the Fourmile Fire Department during the devastating flood in September 2013. Bret describes the unfolding of the event, beginning with the first night of heavy rain. He discusses the role of the fire department, how various organizations in the city and county worked together to respond to the disaster, and he describes rescue operations and damage within the canyon.
