Freeman Clyncke's grandparents came to Colorado in the late 1800s and settled south and east of Boulder. His grandfather and his three brothers farmed and ranched and have run the riding stables in Eldorado Springs for 42 years. He is one of seven children, three of whom still farmed (hay, wheat, barley, corn) and ranched (cattle and horses) at the time of the interview. As children, they milked cows before and after school (until the mid-1950s when his father bought a milking machine) and drove farm equipment. The family raised its own meats and vegetables and sold surplus milk to Watts-Hardy Dairy. The interview also describes social and recreational activities from his childhood, and it ends with a discussion of how farming in Boulder County has become difficult and is getting "squeezed out".

Gayle Myers-Harbison, owner of Gayle Grows It, sells perennial plants, cut flowers, and plants for edible landscaping. She has sold her plants at the Boulder County Farmers Market since the early 1990s. In this interview she describes a typical day of selling at the market, the way the market has expanded and diversified over the past couple of decades, the relationships that farmers develop with customers, training that helps the board of directors to be successful, and other reasons for the market's success.

Charles Lippencott is a third-generation resident of his farm, located at 8130 North 73rd Street in Boulder, Colorado. His mother's family were the Beasleys, who were among the original pioneer land holders in Boulder County, having arrived around 1861; his father's family arrived around 1870. Both families were farmers and ranchers. He describes farming with horses and the switch to using tractors, and details the use of farm equipment such as buck rakes that were made from old cars. He also describes the installation of electricity in the area around 1941 thanks to the REA (Rural Electrification Administration) and the various social activities that centered around the Altona Grange. The interview winds up with his reflections about the rise and fall of farming in Boulder County, how many of the early farmers in the area took up farming when they realized that gold mining would not make them rich, and how farming had declined in Boulder County after the 1960s, starting with the appearance of IBM and the influx of non-farmers that it brought to the area.
