Hollace Westfeldt describes the evolution of her Jewish identity from a childhood and young adulthood that was largely non-observant through her increasing involvement with Judaism through the Boulder Jewish Renewal community of Nevei Kodesh. She describes, in particular, groups such as Bikur Cholim, which provides support to those who are ill, and Chevra Kadisha, whose members attend to those who are deceased, and a course of end-of-life doula training that was developed at Nevei Kodesh. She also describes other congregations and groups that make up Boulder's diverse Jewish community.

Stanley Goldberg talks about his life in Boulder as a secular Jew. He describes what life was like as one of only a few Jewish families in Boulder during the 1950s, his eventual membership in both the Boulder Jewish Fellowship and Congregation Har HaShem, his contribution as the architect of the Har HaShem synagogue, and his experience of completing a Bar Mitzvah at the age of eighty. He also touches on his mountaineering accomplishments and his continuing love of being in the mountains.

Four "founding mothers" talk about the creation and growth of the Jewish Community Center Preschool, including a sense of community that it engenders among students and parents alike, the way it builds knowledge and pride in children about their Jewish identity, the bridges built to the non-Jewish community in Boulder, and the expanding opportunities for enrichment that have been offered to students over the years. They are joined part way through the interview by the first director of the preschool, who now has taught there for more than 30 years.

Bill and Rita begin by describing their childhoods and what brought them to Boulder. They delve into the development of the Boulder Jewish community, including the early days before there was a rabbi in Boulder, through the days of the Boulder Jewish Fellowship and the founding and development of Congregation Har HaShem. They discuss the experiences of their children in the community. Bill also touches on the newspaper editorials he has written over the years about Middle East politics.
