If a photograph has been digitized, it is thought to be a unique image in the Carnegie Library for Local History collections. Some photographs are by photographer Joseph Sturtevant.

Then she describes the people in and history behind several family photgraphs. She talks about the men working in the mines and what everyday life was like for Gold Hill resdients.

Contains photographs from the first summer of the Blue Bird Cottage showing the interior and exterior of the house in 1911, and various clippings, incoming correspondence and other papers regarding the Blue Bird Club that Mrs. Sherwood collected. The latter part of the scrapbook contains papers concerning fund-raising activities of the Altrua Lend a Hand Circle of which Mrs. Sherwood was the president, ca. 1908. Clippings, songs, letters, telegrams, poems, and other printed materials are included.

She also speaks about what life was like for a child in Gold Hill during the 1950s and 1960s, about the character and community spirit of the town, and the effect of fires on mountain towns.
