This recording was made at the Hotel Boulderado during a luncheon at which the invitees recalled their experiences at the Hotel Boulderado during some of its 100-year history. Speakers include Dee Demmon, Don Hume, Betty Chronic, Virginia Patterson, June Peterson Howard, Gwen Winterberger, Dick Dorman, Sandy Hume, Frank Day, Gina Day, Sandy Hale, Laurel McKown, Mary Ann Mahoney, Silvia Pettem, Dan Corson, and Dorothy Sage. Topics range from childhood memories of the hotel to recollections of the famous original stained glass ceiling above the lobby, adventures in hotel management, special events at the hotel, special guests (including ghosts), historic preservation, and more.

ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: Massive, symmetrical double residence with hipped roof and projecting pedimented gables with cut-away corners at each end of facade. Wood shingle roofing. Central, gabled front dormer is pedimented, shingled, and has band of three multi-over-single light windows. Projecting gables have round windows. Projecting porch with pedimented gable is supported by classical columns with balustrade., Two paneled and glazed doors with transoms face porch. Above porch are two centered oval windows with tracery. Other windows are 1/1 light double-hung, with stone sills on both stories and stone sills on first story. Bay windows on north and south. Stone chimney. Stone foundation., STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: This house is significant for its representation of the Colonial Revival style, as reflected in the symmetrical facade, its porch with classical details, and its round and oval windows. The house is notable for its combination of stone, brick, and wood shingles, its variety of windows and bays, and its porch with column supports. The house is also notable for its function as an early 20th century boarding house., DESIGNATION: National Register Eligible., DATE BUILT: 1901-1903. (After the attached report was completed, a March 11, 1901 recorded contract between T.W. Crockett , architect, and Mary Davis, lot owner, was found. The house appears on the 1906 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map.), STYLE: Colonial Revival.
