ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: Gabled random stone rubble dwelling with wide masonry joints. Wood shingle roofing; overhanging eaves. Gables are steeply pitched and front gable end has diagonal wood siding. Shed dormer with windows. Shed roofed porch with wrought iron railings. Windows are multi- over-single light with rusticated stone sills. Large semi- circular arched window to right of entrance was originally part of porch. Stone chimney and foundation. Flagstone walks., Enclosed shed roofed frame entrance on rear., STYLE : Vernacular masonry., DATE BUILT : 1911., STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: This house, although somewhat altered, reflects Rustic Style construction through its stone rubble walls, foundation, and chimney; its diagonal siding in gable end; and its minimal ornamentation.

This collection contains newspaper clippings, as well as two scrapbooks of clippings and photographs, a rough draft of a speech acknowledging the unveiling of a portrait of Mrs. Jean B. Sherwood, promotional pamphlets and railroad schedules pertaining to Blue Bird Cottage, correspondence to and from Mrs. Sherwood, Blue Bird Club Bulletins 1931-1954, rough drafts of news releases in the 1930s, and the club's 1964 membership cards.
