This is interview is one of a series about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on life during 2020. Nicole Christensen and her husband are the owners of a Crossfit gym and the parents of two young daughters, who were 6 and 4 at the time of this interview. The interview was conducted in May 2020, seven weeks after the pandemic initially caused the shutdown of many businesses and schools. Ms. Christensen reflects on her first experiences after learning about the pandemic (in February of 2020) and discusses ways that she and her employees pivoted their business (beginning in March of 2020) to virtual platforms and the impacts of the pandemic on their family life—both the challenges and the silver linings. She also discusses the impact of the pandemic on the community at large.

ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: One-story duplex residence with brick walls and flat roof with curvilinear shaped gables with decorative inset brick panels along front and stepped side walls. Concrete coping along roofline. Shed hood over central facade windows supported by triangular knee braces. Entrances at each end of facade have arched openings with battered support walls and low brick walls with concrete trim. Paneled and glazed doors., Sash and transom windows with 4-light transoms; brick sills. Metal louvered vents on north and south elevations. Concrete foundation., STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: This duplex residence is representative of the Mission style popular during the period 1890-1930 in Colorado, and typified by the curvilinear shaped gables and simplicity of form. Most Mission style houses have stuccoed walls and this example is unusual for its brick walls with concrete trim. The arched openings of the porch, roofline coping, and battered porch supports reflect popular elements of the style., DATE BUILT: [1920s]., STYLE: Mission.

These folders contain archival photocopies of Daily Camera editorials. Folder 12 contains editorials published in 1946-1947; those in folder 13 were compiled to show editorials that appeared from 1 May 1940 through 1960 in support of Boulder (Colo.) enterprises and organizations. Many of the editorials in folder 13 lack a year, and it is likely that some date from as early as the 1920s.
