ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: The facade of the building has been entirely covered with brick above street level. Originally, the building featured a corner entrance which has a rusticated stone arch and columns. The building originally had several storefronts with transoms, clerestories, roller awnings, kickplates and display windows. The second story has flat arched double-hung windows with elaborate stone surrounds and a classical cornice., STYLE : Twentieth Century Commercial., DATE BUILT : ca. 1904, STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: This building, although it has been altered beyond its historic integrity, is associated with the growth of Boulder's commercial district and has housed several business concerns.

Views of the interior of the Poley and Company drugstore at 1412 Pearl Street, which was operated by Dr. C.S. Poley, physician and druggist. Poley appears in both photos. The bearded man behind the counter is probably his clerk, Everett Pickel.
