Don Smith worked for the Boulder Valley School District for many years, beginning in the mid-1950s, first as a physical education teacher and coach for Casey Junior High School, and later as a counselor at Baseline Junior High School and Nederland High School. In this interview he recalls his own days as a student at Nederland High School, and his career as a teacher, coach and counselor. A jazz aficionado, he also talks about his favorite jazz musicians and venues, and about his many years as a radio station disc jockey in Denver, Greeley and Longmont.
