A Gold Hill resident for fifteen years and President of the Gold Hill Club, John Sand relates his experiences in the the Gold Hill community as well as discussing the history of Gold Hill. He focuses on what makes Gold Hill unique and how its residents communicated Gold Hill history through their sesquicentennial celebration in 2009. He also relates the history of the Bluebirds (or the Holiday House Association) and explains the ongoing attempts to preserve the historical character of Gold Hill.

Contains photographs from the first summer of the Blue Bird Cottage showing the interior and exterior of the house in 1911, and various clippings, incoming correspondence and other papers regarding the Blue Bird Club that Mrs. Sherwood collected. The latter part of the scrapbook contains papers concerning fund-raising activities of the Altrua Lend a Hand Circle of which Mrs. Sherwood was the president, ca. 1908. Clippings, songs, letters, telegrams, poems, and other printed materials are included.

These are various issues of the Blue Bird Club's monthly newsletter. Except for the 12-page twentieth anniversary bulletin of October 1930 (2 copies), the bulletin was four pages in length.

This collection contains newspaper clippings, as well as two scrapbooks of clippings and photographs, a rough draft of a speech acknowledging the unveiling of a portrait of Mrs. Jean B. Sherwood, promotional pamphlets and railroad schedules pertaining to Blue Bird Cottage, correspondence to and from Mrs. Sherwood, Blue Bird Club Bulletins 1931-1954, rough drafts of news releases in the 1930s, and the club's 1964 membership cards.

Contains approximately 200 3x5" cards with members' names stamped. etc.

Contains correspondence, clippings and other papers regarding the establishment and continued operation of the Blue Bird Cottage in Boulder. The pages of the scrapbook are brittle.
