Marjory Phillips was born in Nebraska and grew up in Boulder from the age of 10 years on. She talks about her more than three decades of involvement with the First Presbyterian Church of Boulder, where she taught Sunday school classes for children and Bible study classes for women, founded a seniors' group called the Canes and Ables, worked with other church groups such as the Mariners and the Doorways group, and worked in the library.

The Reisigs and Nickersons share stories of their involvement with the Boulder First Presbyterian Church music department beginning in the 1970s. Anita and Lee Ann were piano accompanists, Max was a bass soloist, and Lee Roy helped build the organ loft for the Casavant organ (dedicated in 1979) in the new sanctuary. The interview includes a recounting of directors' and accompanists' names and their contributions to music at Boulder First Presbyterian Church.

Box 1 of the collection includes two hundred seventy-four letters written in 1946-1947 by Ruth and Charles Vavra (of 869 9th Street in Boulder) to their son John while he was serving in the U.S. Army in Virginia, and three letters written in 1960-1962 by Ruth Vavra to her sons, John and James, and their families. Box 2 includes fifty-four letters and seven cards written by James J. Vavra to his brother John, mostly between April 1946-April 1947.

She also mentions the architectural work of Hobart Wagener.

Twin sisters Martha and Marie Campbell have lived in Boulder and been members of the First Presbyterian Church since 1930, when they moved to Boulder at the age of four. They talk about starting and maintaining the church library; maintaining the church in other ways, such as refinishing the pews; and share remembrances of influential pastors and parishioners. They also detail their family history, including their grandparents' arrival in the La Veta, Colorado, area by covered wagon in the 1870s, and their own career history, which involved four decades of work at Norlin Library on the University of Colorado campus.

Dorothy Mathers and her husband joined the congregation of the First Presbyterian Church of Boulder shortly after they moved to Boulder in 1967. She describes teaching in the Sunday School, where she eventually became the superintendent. Teaching the Bethel class (a 2-year study of the entire Bible) and teaching classes for developmentally disabled students were highlights for her. She also talks about projects such as bringing videotaped services to nursing homes and the grounding influence of the church for young people during the "hippie era".
