Jim Carrigan reflects on his life, which began in South and North Dakota during The Depression, where he worked with his father who was a baker. After law school he embarked on a career in which he taught at four law schools and served as the Colorado judicial administrator, as well as a judge on the Colorado Supreme Court and in Federal District Court. Prior to his work as a judge he was involved in a noted investigation into CU football coach Sonny Grandelius' improper use of funds for recruitment of players, and a number of lawsuits against the Denver police department for excessive use of force. He also speaks of his marraige to Beverly Halpin Carrigan, the six children they raised, and the house that they built in Boulder.
