The 1872 panorama (taken in two parts) is of the downtown area of Boulder taken from Sunset Hill looking toward Flagstaff Mountain. The stone house at 2245 15th Street is in the foreground and the Squires-Tourtellot house at 1019 Spruce is in the mid-distance. The first Congregational Church building at 1125 Pine Street and the Colorado House hotel at the corner of Pearl at 13th Street can also be seen along with the foundation for the Methodist Church., Also visible are J.P. Maxwell house at 1235 Pine, A.J. Macky house at 1201 Pine, Tourtellot house at 1209 1/2 Spruce, house at 1201 which later became the Boulder City Club, and the house at 1305 Pine.

One cyanotype photograph of the city of Boulder from Sunset Hill looking south across 15th Street. The house at 2245 15th Street appears second from left. Boulder County Courthouse at 1325 Pearl Street can be seen at the center of the photo, and the Hale Science building, constructed in 1894, can be seen on University Hill at the far left middle of the photo (very small). Chautauqua Auditorium has not yet been built at the base of the Flatirons, dating this photo to between 1894-1898.
