ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: Large, hip-roofed, two-story brick dwelling. Front gabled projecting bay is stuccoed and has return. Originally, the facade featured a full-width porch supported by tall brick pillars topped by balcony with tapered wood columns. The balcony has now been enclosed. Main portion of house has corbelled corners and corbelled two-story tower at southeast corner., Segmental arched windows with brick lintels and rusticated stone sills. Brick belt courses. Full-height brick chimney., STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: This house is interesting because it is of somethat earlier vintage than the typical University Hill home. Although it has been altered, late Victorian era details such as the two-story tower, brick corbelling, and segmental arched windows with rusticated stone sills are still evident., DATE BUILT: 1895., STYLE: Edwardian Vernacular.
