Records of W. B. LeVeque's financial dealings, mostly as regards mining in the Gold Hill Mining District of Boulder County, Colo. Folders 27-33 contain Boulder County tax receipts on mining properties.

The 15 folders in this box contain manuals, rosters, programs, annual yearbooks and other printed materials of the Arapahoe Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, of which Marguerite Dean was a member. Also, some printed materials from the Colorado and national bodies of the D.A.R., The Arapahoe Chapter, Boulder, was organized in 1910.

ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: Three story building with steeply pitched intersecting gabled wings. Facade features flat roofed porch with basketweave brickwork, brick pier supports with stone trim, segmental arches with cast stone trim and parapet above entrance. Balcony above porch has solid brick balustrade. Two gables of varied size and height on facade. Oriel window with multiple lights and cast stone trim on third story., Third story has band of four flat arched windows with cast stone surrounds and 6/6 light double-hung windows. Second story has similar band of windows and door to balcony with cast stone trim. First story has segmental arched windows with similar trim. Stone water table. Stone belt course at second story level. Full- height corbelled brick chimney on west with windows with diamond- shaped panes on either side., Two entries with French doors with stone trim and one segmental arched entry with stone trim and wood door. Full-height corbelled brick chimney on east. Newer rear wing has brick bay window on west with stone trim., DESIGNATION: National Register Eligible., STYLE : Jacobean/Elizabethan., DATE BUILT : ca. 1925, STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: This house represents the growth and development of the fraternity movement at the University of Colorado. The building has served as a fraternity house since its construction. In addition, the building is an important example of Jacobean/Elizabethan style in Boulder as reflected in the steeply pitched gabled roofs; the bands of windows with multiple lights and cast stone trim; the oriel window with cast stone; and the segmental arched brick porch., The building was designed by the firm of M.H. and B. Hoyt, prominent Denver architects who designed many residences and public buildings in the state. Burnham Hoyt has been called "Colorado's foremost mid-20th century architect".

The original photos were thought to have been taken 1912-1918.

ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: Front-gabled building, with gabled wall dormers on both sides. Unusual roofline -- gable roofs are shorter than main roofline. Widely overhanging eaves. All the gable ends are sided with regular cut shingles; and have small, Gothic-arched windows. Front gable end originally had a ribbon of four double-hungs which cut through the cornice line. ( One of the windows has been replaced with a door, and a new balcony has been built.), Similar triple windows on the side galbes. Brick walls; beltcoursing. Bay window on east. Wrap-around porch with hipped roof; columns; balustrade; wood floor. Stone foundation., STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: This finely crafted building is noteworthy for its unusual roofline. Although the porch and balcony have been remodeled, the building has a high degree of historic integrity. Architectural details on the house include Gothic-arched windows, a bay window, and a wrap-around porch. This building is an excellent example of Boulder's early twentieth century upper middle-class housing., DATE BUILT: 1904-1906., STYLE: Edwardian vernacular., ARCHITECT: C. H. ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: Large residence with gable-L plan composed of steeply pitched side gable and intersecting front gable. Front gable flares to cover porch located at intersection of gables, and front gable wall is extended to form arcaded wall with round arched entrance to porch. Two front wall dormers cut through cornice and have paired windows with multiple lights. Walls of house are composed of coursed stone rubble with stone foundation., Center, paneled and glazed door. Windows have multiple lights, are tall and narrow, and are grouped on facade. Windows have concrete lintels and sills. Top of gable ends has wooden siding, divided by vertical board on front and stone chimney on sides, and triangular louvered vents. Brick sidewalk. Mature trees., STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: This house is significant for its high artistic values which exhibit finely crafted construction, including its native stone construction, steeply pitched intersecting gables, multiple light windows, and through- the-cornice dormers. The house is an excellent example of the Tudor Revival style popular in Boulder during the early 20th Century. ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: Cross-gambrel roofed, two-story house with double-gambrel on facade. Gambrel ends are shingled and have evenly-spaced 6/1 light windows. Side gambrel ends have semi-circular window at apex with diamond-shaped panes. Overhanging eaves with brackets underneath and with return. Light colored brick walls atop evenly-coursed stone foundation. Center paneled and glazed door with wide, rusticated stone lintel., Leaded glass and paneled sidelights. Windows with diamond- shaped lights on first floor. Porch has low pediment above entrance, evenly-coursed stone walls with vents, and multiple classical column supports. Stone porch steps. Corbelled brick chimney. Evenly-coursed stone retaining walls in year are similar to the foundation of the house., STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: This finely-crafted and well- preserved house is notable for its stately size, unusual double- front gambrel with cross-gambrel roof, and decorative details which reflect early 20th century construction. The restrained exterior of the facade reflects post-Victorian tastes in the city., Interesting features of the house include the evenly- coursed stone foundation, brick walls, and shingled gable ends. The windows of the house include multi-over-single light, lattice- paned, leaded glass, and semi-ciruclar windows. The porch is ornamented with a low pediment, stone walls, and classical columns.
