This collection contains approximately 30,000 photographs and unprinted negatives that were taken by Charles W. Marr.

Charles W. Marr attended veterinary school in Fort Collins before enlisting in World War I as an aerial photographer and pilot. In World War II, he was a civilian instructor of photography at Lowry Air Force Base, Denver.
In 1942, he married Mary Evans in Boulder, Colorado. He worked as a commercial photographer in Boulder from as early as 1949 (first time found in Boulder Directory) until he retired in 1981. Marr Studio was located in the rear of his home at 3403 4th Street, Boulder, Colo. Mary worked with Charles doing retouching and tinting. Marr died in February 1986 at the age of eighty-nine.
