History: This oral history collection began in 1976 as a project, facilitated by grant money from the Bicentennial Celebration Committee. The collection continues to grow and, since 1984, has been coordinated by the Carnegie Library for Local History. Volunteers conduct the interviews. The interviewees mostly are long-time residents, discussing a variety of topics covering local history.

Description Beth Klein is an attorney who concentrates her work on helping people recover from physical or emotional injury. She has worked extensively to aid people who are victims of human trafficking, both labor trafficking and sex trafficking. She describes the nature and extent of human trafficking in Colorado and Boulder County and discusses approaches that do and do not work to cut down on the amount of trafficking and to aid its victims. She praises the work of Boulder County's district attorney, Stan Garnett, and Longmont's mayor, Bryan Baum; explains how ordinary citizens can help victims; and describes next steps for Colorado to take to try to combat the problem.
