Description

This collection consists of a scrapbook about North Side [Northside] Intermediate School containing material from a student production of the operetta "Tea House of Sing Lo" and newspaper clippings about the renaming of the school as Casey Junior High School, 1935-1944; a booklet produced for the 50th Boulder High School reunion of the class of 1938 and a banquet program, 1988; and abstracts of title to the properties at 2021 and 2029 Mesa Drive ( formerly North Street).

History

Joseph Cowgill was the adopted son of Marthana Cowgill, who with her sister ran Mesa Vista Sanatorium, a tuberculosis sanitarium at 2121 Mesa Drive. He attended Whittier Elementary School, Northside Intermediate School, State Preparatory School, the University of Colorado and C.U. Medical School. After WWII he entered private practice with Dr. J. D. Bartholomew. He was one of the founders of Boulder Medical Center.
