Description: Records from the Frances, Colo. post office and views of Nederland or Cardinal, Colo.
History: The small mining camp of Frances, Colorado was located between Sunset and Ward along the Colorado and Northwestern Railroad. The post office was established in 1898. According to directories, by 1906 there were only fifteen men listed as residents in the camp with no Post Master found among them. It is believed that their mail was sent to Ward.

Description This single notebook with plastic protective sheets contains various employment oaths, receipts, letters, and railway documents pertaining to the Frances, Colorado post office dated 1898 to 1904. There are also a few 1898-1900 Registry Bill cards from the nearby post office at Puzzler, Colorado; this post office was discontinued on 14 November 1903.
