Description This folder contains a list of the Carnegie Branch Library's call numbers for photographs, as well as photocopies of those photographs, that were used on the Pearl Street Mall historic panels., In June 2001, the City of Boulder hired Silvia Pettem to pick twelve themes, select the photos, and write captions for these panels. Dave Tweed of Communication Arts (a Boulder graphics firm) was hired to do the layout and design. The panels were completed on July 17, 2003., The twelve themes (in order from 11th Street to 15th Street) are: (1) Pearl & 11th, (2) Pearl Street: Mud to Mall, (3) Colorful Characters, (4) Downtown Buildings & Businesses, (5) The 19th-Century Child, (6) Horse-drawn Vehicles & Liveries, (7) Boulder County Courthouses, (8) Mining & Agriculture, (9) Boulder's Railroads: Providing a Sense of Place, (10) The University & The Town, (11) Culture, Health & Tourism, and (12) 1400 Block of Pearl.
