(A copy removed from the pocket of the book: "Edward Dunsha Steele, 1829-1865, pioneer, schoolteacher, cabinetmaker and musician : a diary of his journey from Lodi, Wisconsin, across the plains to Boulder, Colorado, in the year 1859.")
2. The Crackerjack. July 1899 (Vol. 1, No. 1). A 16-page periodical that is primarily "full of comfort and humor", numerous local advertisements, and very little local information. Published by Crackerjack Pub. Co., 2051 12th Street, Boulder by Mr. and Mrs. Albert C. Smith. It boasted "a good healthy circulation in a wealthy district." It includes a biography and poem of Henry A. Drumm.
3. The Friday Social and Industrial Review. May 19, 1899. This is a photocopy of a newspaper from the collection of Earl and Barbara Bolton. The second page of the paper is by large devoted to mining news from Gold Hill, Summerville, Ward (Puzzler mine and others), Copper Rock (Christian Science mine), Wall Street (Wood Tunnel and others), and Glendale (Tail Holt mine).

8. The Boulder Morning News. February 4, 1915 (Vol. 1, No. 72) and June 9, 1915 (front page). Published every day but Monday. Arthur A. Parkhurst, Editor and Proprietor. Contains "Nuggets from the Mining Camps" by L. E. Girard, personal news from Boulder, Louisville and Niwot.
9. The Record. November 15, 1920 (Vol. 1, No. 1) "The Civics Committee of the Woman's Club offers this edition of 'The Record' as a tribute to women who have given of their intelligence, time and strength, either for the betterment of their beloved home town or for usefulness in other places. While entirely compiled and published within three days, no name or date has been used without effor for its verification."
