Description

This collection is a photographic record of Boulder's City and County Government contained in 14 boxes. Only Box 1 (early fire department) is fully arranged and cataloged. The remaining boxes contain images of the City Council, elections, municipal court, bootlegging, crime, later fires and fire department, Parks and Recreation Department, Police and crime, utilities, reservoirs, Boulder County Fair (1929-1979), Assessor, Clerk Commissioners, Roads, Social Services, and Treasurer.

Ownership Note

The photographs in this collection came to A. A. Paddock and his son Laurence Paddock from numerous sources, primarily from pioneer Boulder families who had these photos in their possession and knew of Paddock's efforts to collect and preserve Boulder's historic past. A.A. Paddock was a founding member of the Boulder Historical Society in 1945, and began donating his collection to the Society over a period of years.

This collection is on permanent loan from the Boulder Historical Society.
