Description: This is an artificial collection of Boulder Historical Society photograph collections. These small collections contain photographs of persons, scenes, events and other views, mostly in the region of Boulder, Colorado.
Terms of Use: RIGHTS: The historic photographs and documents, with the Source BHS, belong to the Boulder Historical Society/Museum of Boulder and require attribution when used. These items are on permanent loan to the Carnegie Library for Local History. No duplicated materials may be deposited, or placed on file in any other archive, museum, library or similar repository. Questions of copyright are the responsibility of the user.

Note: Some of the collections have not been cataloged. They are in a box in the Document Storage room. The envelopes have a title, Donor name, and date of donation. They are arranged by date of donation.
This collection is on permanent loan from the Boulder Historical Society.

Description This collection contains 17 black and white photographs, ca. 1900-1949, of Metropolitan Opera singer Josephine Antoine and her parents and their home at 955 College Ave. Along with a number of snapshots, these photos include five glossy 8"x10" promotional studio portraits of Miss Antoine.

Description This collection contains 25 black and white photographs, ca. 1907-1958, of the Art Association of Boulder building at 1232 Arapahoe Ave., and displays. All but one glossy 8 x 10" print are 3 x 5" snapshots of the building: exterior and interior views, apparently all of the same date, probably in the late 1930s.

Description This collection consists of one vest-pocket sized photograph album containing 6 tintypes and 6 cartes de visite. A note once attached to the album stated: "photo album carried by my Father (Thomas Bailey) in the Civil War." The photographs date from the late 1850s to the early 1860s. There are no identifications.

Description This collection consists of five pictures (they seem to be prints from newspaper photos) of members of Company H, First Colorado Infantry, in action in Manila in the Spanish American War in 1898. According to the Boulder Daily Camera article acknowledging the donation in 1954, the cards were printed in Manila.

One, a card photograph, is a portrait of a young couple taken in Terre Haute, Indiana. The other is a snapshot of a wooden plank bridge over a stream.

Description This collection contains two undated prints from deteriorated negatives. One is a full-length portrait of a woman, possibly by a Boulder studio. The other is a view of a gathering near a partially erected brick building; a tall structure with a pulley and ropes is just behind the platform on which people are seated in folding wooden chairs.

Description This collection contains 2 cloth-covered albums which hold cyanotype views of Boulder in about the 1920s-1930s. One volume contains 25 views; 23 are in the other; most of the views are the same in the two albums. They include scenes on the campus of the University of Colorado, Boulder, and the natural surroundings of Boulder.

Description This collection contains an undated photograph, by Boulder photographer Charles F. Snow, of a scene at the Denver and Interurban train station in Boulder. The other item in this folder is a photo-postcard of "Luckie 2 camp, looking west, Boulder Falls, Colo.," taken on 28 Nov. 1916, which shows a road, a railroad track, numerous buildings and evidence of mining work. The Lucky 2 mine is near Boulder Falls in Boulder Canyon, Colo.

Description This envelope contains two photos of Cattermole homes. George H. and Marie Cattermole resided at 605 Pine St.; and George and Jennie E. Cattermole lived at 613 Pine. There are 3 photographs of the U.S. Army Air Corps. One shows W. Mark Cattermole in pilot's flying clothing and parachute, standing in front of a row of PT-9 trainer planes on Randolph Field, Texas, in 1932. Another photo shows a cadet formation passing review at Randolph Field on 28 Feb. 1932. The third photo is an outside view of two nurses and a man standing at the top of stairs leading to a World War I U.S. Army medical hospital in 1918.
